Conference organizers

International parliamentary conference in conjunction with Russia’s G8 presidency "HIV/AIDS in Eurasia and the role of the G8" is jointly initiated by the Russian State Duma Interfactional Deputies’ Working Group on HIV/AIDS and the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on AIDS and an international non-governmental organization Transatlantic Partners Against AIDS (TPAA), that provides information, and technical support in the design and implementation of the conference.

Russian Interfactional Deputies' Working Group on HIV/AIDS
The Working Group is a high-level coalition of State Duma members, representing various legislative committees, that supports the development and strengthening of Russian HIV/AIDS policy and strategy, and works to expand public-private partnerships, improve federal budgetary expenditures for prevention and treatment, and promote collaboration between Russian and international organizations involved with the fight against HIV/AIDS.

All-Party Parliamentary Group of the UK Parliament
Membership of All-Party Parliamentary Groups is explicitly restricted to members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords. There are currently 160 members of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on AIDS, with approximately two-thirds from the House of Commons and a third from the House of Lords. The Group members concerned about both the devastation that HIV/AIDS is causing in developing countries and as an issue in the UK that affects British constituents.

Transatlantic Partners Against AIDS (TPAA)
TPAA is an independent, non-governmental organization that leverages the political, civic, scientific, and economic resources of North American, European, and Eurasian partners to combat the rapid and devastating spread of HIV/AIDS in Russia, Ukraine and neighboring countries.
